Costco is one of the largest retailers in the world and is ranked the 14th largest company on Fortune’s 500 lists for 2019. It has over 776 locations in approximately 12 counties. Costco’s expansion plans include adding more new locations in Canada. In addition to finding locations for more warehouses, Costco is adding gas bars wherever possible throughout Canada. During 2017, Costco opened a new concept in Canada, which emphasizes Business-to-business services and supplies. There are 100 locations in Canada.

Chuck E. Cheese’s
Ontario
Chuck E. Cheese’s found success hosting birthday parties and other special occasions with its mix of pizza; flashy games that eject tickets redeemable for prizes; and larger-than-life animatronic characters that perform shows—including its namesake mascot. The 43-year-old chain was purchased by Apollo Global Management for about $950 million in 2014. The Irving, Texas-based CEC Entertainment Inc. and its franchisees currently operate 612 Chuck E. Cheese’s stores in the United States and 10 foreign countries or territories. Apollo’s focus for expansion is US based only. There are 10 locations remaining in Canada.

Lone Star Texas Grill

Originally established in Ottawa by a homesick Texan, Lone Star Texas Grill promises great southern hospitality. Offering a wide variety of foods, patrons can choose from several menu items including steaks, fajitas and ribs. Lone Star is a family experience by making sure kids get their fill of Texas as well. Lone Star has several locations throughout Ontario and enjoys a dominant presence in Ottawa. Lone Star continues to grow at a steady pace of roughly a couple of new units per annum of approximately 6,000 square feet or through their new express concept of approximately 2,500 square feet.

Red Robin
Canada
Burgers are the focus and Red Robin continues to serve them fresh and fire-grilled! The concept began in the 1940’s as Sam, the original owner was known to sing “When the Red Robin comes bob, bob, bobbin along” with his barbershop quartet. The concept was officially establish in Seattle, Washington in 1969 or almost 50 years ago. Since that time, the chain has grown to over 500 restaurants and has won numerous awards for taste, quality and community contributions. The chain expands through both corporate initiatives and franchising. There are 12 Canadian locations, all found in the Province of British Columbia.
